The first taxis<\/div>

It was the second decade of the 1900s, when the first motorized taxis appeared in Patras. These taxis served the city's upper class, transporting the ladies in the long dresses of that era - as a kind of appointment. Arriving at the destination for boarding, they used the horn to hear them! We do not know the number of the first taxis<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The limousines<\/div>

In the 1930s, large limousines - about 35 in number - with large headlights and spoked wheels made their appearance. They had their places of residence in Trion Symmachon Square, Georgiou Square and Ypsila Alonia.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The rise of taxis<\/div>

After the war, the taxi fleet gradually began to grow. The major increase occurred in the 1960s and 1970s, until 1989. Today, the city of Patras, according to our Association's data, has approximately 700 taxis.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The first radio taxis<\/div>

In the early 1980s, the first radio taxis were established, with Patras being the second in the territory to be established. It was called Hermes and had 27 taxis. Gradually, other colleagues began to join the radio taxi, which by the end of the decade numbered approximately 255 cars, while its name was now Radio Taxi of Patras, as it remains to this day (RADIOTAXI PATRAS 18300).<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Our Radio Taxi<\/div>

The Radio Taxi of Patras has 350 taxis with a nine-member Board of Directors, a three-member Supervisory Board and a five-member Disciplinary Board. It has seven staff-operators (with experience ranging from 23 years to 1) and works on a 24-hour basis, 365 days a year. It works with two frequencies and in the morning shift we broadcast with two operators.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>
